Braj Center Plan   Braj culture is predominantly glorifying and chanting the names of Sri Radharani. Her personality is eternally full of divine ecstasy, which pours overflowing joy on everyone without discriminating. Keeping her in our heart and thoughts will allow each of us to do service with enthusiasm. This consciousness and spiritual practice (sadhana) is maintained while integrating our daily activities.   One of the major goals of the Vrindavana Preservation Society is to promote Braj Culture. By establishing a Braj Center for our community of members and all interested persons, we would be able to extend our current activities in a number of different areas. Potential proposals include:     1.       Nikunja Mandir (Temple): This would be a temple where activities are based upon established Nimbarki Vaisnava traditional teachings. Activities would include kirtan (congregational singing and dancing), Radha Krishna Katha (the stories of Radha Krishna past times), sermons based on Vedic scripture, japa (chanting), deity worship before an altar, festival celebrations, drama performances, partaking of prasadam and satsang. Maintenance and cleaning will also provide opportunities for service. All of the above activities when performed in a mood of surrender for the pleasure of Sri Sri Radha Krishna are processes for the opening of one’s heart to a divine loving consciousness.   2.       Narada Restaurant: The restaurant will serve fresh vegetarian cuisine in a devotional ambience. It could also provide business opportunities for income and employment (i.e., operation of the restaurant, vegetarian cooking classes, catering services, etc.)    3.       Hamsa Academy: The site would also hold classroom space for both adult and children’s educational programs like Vaisnava Academy classes, music instruction, CD/DVD publication, Hindi lessons for adults, etc.   4.       Sankadik Ashram: Retreat facility, guesthouse and satsang room.   5.       Gopal Playground: This land will be utilized for children/youth games and activities. It could also be used for outdoor picnics and           festivals. A central focus would be a beautiful nikunj for meditation and outdoor kirtans.   6.       Vaisnava Grocery Store: The store will offer a wide variety of ingredients for vegetarian cooking that support Vaisnava tradition. This could be an income opportunity for any member(s) that may have interest in operating the store.   7.       Rangdevi Devotional Shop: This shop will include handicrafts from India, devotional items, altar supplies, musical instruments, clothing, books, Indian and Vaisnava greeting cards, etc.   8.       Book Publication: As we begin the translation of ancient and rare texts of Nimbarka lineage, we will make these writings available to the public.   We seek your suggestions, ideas and pledges to help make the Braj Center a place where all can meet in loving devotional service to Sri Sri Radhe Krishna.
